All About the Sloths!
What is your favourite animal? I actually have two, penguins and sloths! Both are equally adorable although sloths are just so cuddly too...!
We actually have three penguin toys and two sloth toys available at Squiggle and Bean:
Pearl the Penguin and Paxton the Penguin
But this blog post is not about these cute toys. Today I want to show you the sloths!
Stan the Sloth was one of the first Squiggle and Bean toys, and in the last year has had a serious makeover:
Doesn't he look fab now? The change of yarn colours, arm placement and getting rid of the plastic safety eyes has worked a treat. I think it's important to keep updating and improving our toys. I want to always be producing the best toys I can so I am not worried about completely changing a toy if it makes it better. And what a difference that has made with little Stan, who now looks gorgeous and stylish. He is my favourite toy; he just makes me happy! He sits at 10cm tall. His arms and legs are sewn on to the body. His face is white with dark brown eye patches and his paws are stone coloured. Most importantly, he has a sweet smile, which is embroidered on.

This month I have added another sloth to the range: Sophie the Sloth
As you can see, she is pretty different to Stan! Her arms and legs are crocheted to the body, not sewn on, and her head and body are one piece. I love this effect, it gives the toy much more movement. I have added a few toys in this style to the shop this month, all of them look fab:
Beth the Bear - both patterns by Sparrow Dreamer
The freedom to move the arms and legs gives these toys great playability, as well extra cuddle factor!
From top of her head to the bottom of her feet Sophie measures 12cm tall. The eye patches are dark brown and her face is stone coloured. She also has a big smile too!
I have made another style sloth as well:
This brightly coloured sloth is a gift for one of Chloe's friends. I like the style of it but I didn't enjoy making this pattern. It has inspired me to try and make my own version. I have some ideas of how to achieve this so watch this space...
So which sloth is for you? As I have said, Stan the Sloth is my favourite but I love both of them! Let me know which is your favourite, and if there is another style you'd like to see - different colours or size maybe? Don't be shy, leave me a comment!
